St Kilda fishing report

Fisherman: Dave, Pete & Eric Choi

Location: At the end of St Kilda breakwater

Time: 22/11/2010, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Condition:
Weather – sunny
Temperature – 35 degree C
Tide – Rising tide
Wind – 5 knots WSW wind

Observation:
A lot of bait fish was spotted on both sides of the breakwater, they got chased up/attacked occasionally by something unknown which maybe aussie salmon or snook.
Some mullets up to 1 foot long were lurking in the shallow.
Plenty of flies!!!

Action:
Very quiet!!! there was no bite for fly fishing even if surface action had been seen.
Dave’s float fishing gear couldn’t reach the deeper holes so it is not productive.
Light surf fishing seemed to be the most effective this time, Eric had fish bites quite often but only managed to hook on one bream.

Style:
Fly, light surf and float (centrepin)

Catch & Release: one ~22cm bream by Eric Choi
